KKR - IPL 2013

The reigning champions, Kolkata were the surprise package of last season. Not too many people expected them to win and now the pressure has increased on them to play just as good. Their success of last year was mainly down to a few key factors, these were mainly in the form of Kallis and Narine.

They also have good players in Brett Lee, Brendon McCullum, Shakib Al Hasan, Ryan TenDoeschate and Eoin Morgan. The only problem is that these players cant all play at once. The flop of the IPL over the last two seasons has been Yusuf Pathan, surely he will fire this season.

The team will be once again be lead by Gambhir, a man on a mission. Last May he must have been ontop of the world, being the captain who won. This time around he has to prove himself again, he has been dropped from the national side.

In terms of the Indian contingent there is promising fast bowler Shami Ahmed,  wicket keeper Manvinder Bisla who is as good as any attacking batsman in the competition.

Off the field the owner Shah Rukh Khan will want to continue his gloating, I am sure that he enjoyed the last IPl more than any other. The seasons before had been very poor for KKR, always falling short. I do not predict them to win the competition this year, but I think they will run the winners close.

Team Facts:

Captain: Gautum Gambhir
Star Man: Jacques Kallis
Six Hitter: Brendon McCullum
Leading Bowler: Sunil Narine
My prediction: Semi-Final
